2020 Design Trends

Happy New Year! We have busy the last 6 months planning & prepping for our new website that we just launched this month. It’s so nice to have it done and to start fresh for the new year, the new decade, 2020. We thought it would be the perfect time to share what’s wonderful, what’s strong and what are our favorites in the design world. 

Wallcovering is back in full force and in such a beautiful way. Our favorite details are the textures, whether it’s brush strokes you can see & feel, or rivets that designers can customize to your liking for a wallpaper in just the right room.

We all see the popularity of brass and it’s available now in more options & with different depths of finishes. Hardware for furniture, cabinetry, rods for shelving, and gorgeous light fixtures to appreciate. Now don’t get me wrong, polished chrome, matte black and brushed nickel are still available. And designers do & will mix metals. And when done right it’s fantastic.

For our projects that lean towards more modern shapes, they can’t go without the timeless geometric shapes of hexagons & octagons. These geometrics are currently found in many materials...tile, wood flooring, fabric & wallcovering. And we love being creative with shapes.

One of our current favorite wallcoverings is this beautiful brown wood paper...ever so light & thin, with a touch of gold. Notice that all 3 of these wallcoverings have very organic patterns to them as well.

Nature’s colors of blue in the sky and water will continue strong, as it’s always a classic. We love it mixed with the color of the earth’s soil.

My oh my, how I love the beauty of velvet. Whether it is a simple bow to tie back your hair or an all-out statement piece of a velvet sofa. Velvet is now even available in durable & cleanable fabrics.
