Colors of Springtime

I’ve accepted the fact that in NE Ohio, March is winter, snow & all. And now it’s snowing in April, a whole week! Right when we are all so ready for springtime color. Yet there are many ways to bring the joy of color into your home and lifestyle. 

Layering is key with FASHION for warmth but also a terrific way to enjoy color that brings bright happiness. This royal purple can make anyone feel special & cozy with color. The bright magenta pink linen blazer I wear with my grey slacks is a favorite this time of year.

Surround yourself with PATTERNS of adorable creatures of nature through fabrics, ceramics, animal prints and framed botanical patterns. Bringing these motifs to your surroundings is sure to create a smile.

Purchasing blooming springtime bulbs from your local garden center is the gift that keeps giving! Once you have enjoyed their cheerful bright presence, the daffodils & hyacinth can be planted for this time next year.

When you live where the winters are long, having at least one bright coat of color is always appreciated. Especially yellow, it brings energy & joy!

Especially now during this pandemic, when we are working from home and missing the sweet faces of co-workers, friends and family, be sure to share some happiness with color!

During these months, fresh cut FLORALS from our local grocery store are as important to me as milk and honey. Bright forsythia grows wild in Terra Granum, all I do is bundle them up in a galvanized french bucket. If you keep the ends cut with fresh water they last for weeks.
