The Queen
On September 8th, England lost a strong, kind, dedicated and compassionate queen, Queen Elizabeth II. Yet in reality, she was in many ways the world’s queen. To rein for 70 years, just think of all she witnessed while protecting England, Scotland and all of the Commonwealth Countries. She led with a firm foundation of faith, family, education, history, and devoted service. I don’t ever remember a time in my 64 yrs when she was not the queen. I do remember, though, my favorite things about her while growing up; her love of animals, especially corgis and horses. Her love for nature, gardens and being amongst the trees in the forest or surrounded by mountains, these special places are where she found peace.
During my teen years I became interested in all kinds of architecture, castles, art history, fashion and interior design. So when I read the Balmoral Castle was the queen’s favorite place I knew I had to learn more.
The Balmoral Castle dates back to Queen Victoria & Prince Albert’s time where each summer they would host the annual Ghillies’ Ball and it was all for the staff. It became one of Queen Elizabeth’s favorite events too!
Being on the shorter size she thought beige and ivory would never do. She loved her bright colors in fashion and hats where the brims were not too big so she could see faces much better. “I have to be seen to be believed” - Queen Elizabeth II
Here in her final public photo inside her beloved Balmoral Castle, in a bright pretty room with a warm fire, is her wonderful smile she shares with all. A true treasure in history to cherish, admire, and love.
Now and forever, GOD Bless the Queen, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Thank you for a life full of dignified service and devotion.
