Wonderful Wallcovering
Yes, wallcovering is back and going strong! We love the historical motifs that vendors are reviving in new colors. There are all kinds of beautiful wallpaper with soft textures in grasscloth and fabrics. And we love the fabulous new modern patterns that inspire our products today. For our interior design studio, wallcovering has never gone out of style!
Here are the factors we keep in mind when selecting wallcovering for our clients.
1. Color application is important. For bedrooms, stay with soft, calm, and quiet palettes with lean and light patterns. For high activity areas like foyers, game rooms, and laundry rooms, those wallpaper patterns with contrast bring energy and good cheer to a room.
2. Textures & Natural fibers have created many more options. Layering pattern on top of wallcovering creates such a warm and inviting room which really elevates the space.
3. Acoustical benefits are always appreciated and sometimes forgotten as wallpaper adds an extra layer of sound protection.
4. The most important installation factor is quality paper and good help, hanging wallpaper calls for experience with a level of craftsmanship. Apprenticeship roles in this trade are wonderful way to learn the craft.
5. Locations of wallpaper is wide open now, be creative with your interior designer. There’s ceilings, closets, back walls for built-ins, and layering with clad work.
This incredible wallpaper from Brunschwig & Fils is truly a showstopper. The pattern of the botanicals with elegant birds flows so beautifully and the rendering of detail is impressive. The contrast of blue and white is a classic while providing a positive atmosphere. It was the perfect paper for this particular installation in a foyer and continuing up the stairs. Notice how the matching fabric was constructed to continue to follow in line with the paper. It is one our favorites and its quite elegant in a light brown color as well.
This new laundry room is organized for a high task area, with pets and family needs. But that doesn’t mean you can’t provide style for the interiors. We have a beautiful natural stone, custom cabinetry, warm brass hardware and a coordinating window treatment. And this Thibaut mini pattern wallpaper is sweet and subtle while adding a timeless touch.
This is an example of a large pattern in a Fret work repeat. It is soft and soothing in color so to create a restful and restorative bedroom. Notice how this wallpaper blends so beautifully with the mixture of other patterns and prints.
